Map Your Horizon is run by Julia Sherman, based in Slovenia. I decide how the information described on this page is used, which makes me the data controller.

• Booking requests: your name, email address, your teenager's age, your preferred language, the time you chose and your message.
• Speaking enquiries: your name, email address, organisation, location, audience details, possible dates and your message.
• Webinar waiting list: your email address.
• Consultation preparation: what you choose to tell me about your teenager in the preparation form, and my notes from our session.
• Hosting data: like every website, the server that hosts this one keeps basic technical logs, such as IP address, the page requested and the time.

The forms on this website do not send anything themselves. Submitting one opens your own email program with the message prepared, and I only receive it if you choose to send it.

• To reply to a booking request or enquiry, and to prepare for and hold a consultation or session. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract, and performance of that contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
• To email you about the webinar, because you asked me to. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (Art. 6(1)(a)).
• To keep invoices and payment records for paid consultations. Legal basis: legal obligation under accounting and tax law (Art. 6(1)(c)).
• To keep the website running securely. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Only the services needed to run this properly, and each sees only what it needs:

• the company that hosts this website
• my email provider, which stores the messages you send me
• for paid consultations, my bank or payment provider, and my accountant

Nobody else receives your information.

Booking and enquiry emails

As long as we are working together, then only what accounting and tax law requires.

Preparation forms and session notes

Deleted within twelve months of the session, unless you ask me to keep them for a follow-up.

Webinar waiting list

Until you ask to be removed.

Server logs

Kept by the hosting provider for a short period, for security and troubleshooting.

Assessment answers

Never held. They stay in your browser.

You can ask me to:

• show you what information I hold about you, and give you a copy
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete it
• restrict how I use it, or object to a particular use
• send it to you or someone else in a portable format, where this applies
• withdraw your consent at any time, for example to leave the webinar list

To use any of these rights, write to hello@mapyourhorizon.net. I will reply within one month. It is free, and you do not need to give a reason.

You can also complain to the Slovenian Information Commissioner (Informacijski pooblaščenec, www.ip-rs.si), or to the data protection authority in the EU country where you live or work.

The website, the booking and enquiry forms and the webinar list are intended for adults.

The two assessments are designed to be used by teenagers. They run entirely in the browser: answers are never sent to me or stored anywhere, and closing the page deletes them.

If your teenager joins a session, workshop or camp, any information I need about them comes from you and is used only for that activity.

This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and does not store anything in your browser.

Its fonts are served from this website, so visiting it does not send your information to Google or any other third party.

If that changes, for example if analytics, video embeds or a newsletter sign-up tool are added, this section will be updated first.
